Enrolment

Officially opening in 2015, Truganina College is located within the City of Wyndham at 55 Clearwood Drive, Truganina. The area is believed to be named after Truganini, a full-blooded Aboriginal Tasmanian woman who spent a short time in the area.

In 2015, the first stage of Truganina College opened and provided classrooms and specialist spaces for students in Years Foundation – 6. The second stage opened in late 2016 and involves learning communities for students in Years 7 – 9, additional specialist spaces and a gymnasium. The College is organised around the primary and secondary stages of schooling. The school focuses on effective transition from Early Learning Centres and to Senior Secondary education.

Community Volunteers are an invaluable resource at Truganina College. From reading with children in the classroom to helping out at fundraising events, the College values any form of assistance offered by volunteers. Do you have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)? If so, please attach a copy to this form.
If you don’t have a Working With Children Check (WWCC), you can apply for one via the following link:

This Includes the following:

We highly recommend families to pre-pay for the Essential Education Items.

CSEF – Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund

There is an additional cost for incursions and excursions throughout the year, if you hold a current Health Care Card you may be eligible for CSEF Funding which will help cover the cost of these events.

– Eligible families receive $125.00 per child in primary school.

Subjects

Students will have four hours of subjects each week taught by a different teacher.

                 

21st Century Skills

All learning experiences across the curriculum incorporates 21st century skills to equip students with the skills needed so that they are globally aware, better able to navigate the digital world and be more engaged.

iPads

It’s the expectation that every student at the College has an iPad. The iPads are a tool used in the classroom to support teaching and learning. Due to the technological structures in the College, only iPads can be used for learning.  We teach students how to use technology safely through the Responsible Digital Citizenship Matrix.

                                             

Assessments

Teachers assess students for their ability to identify the upper and lower case alphabets when they begin school. This assessment also includes the student’s ability to identify sounds of the alphabets. Students are also assessed on their reading and comprehension as well as the reading and spelling of Oxford Words.

SeeSaw

Seesaw is an Online Learning Management System the school began using during Remote and Flexible Learning. The Seesaw platform is used in Foundation – Year 4 classrooms.

2020 and 2021 Enrolments – Update – Stage 4 Restrictions

If you wish to enrol your child at Truganina College, please be advised that all enrolment queries for 2020 and 2021 are to be emailed to our Enrolments Officer Lisa Rouvray on enrolments@truganinap9.vic.edu.au 
Our enrolments officer can email all the enrolment forms to you.

Due to Stage 4 Restrictions if you require forms in hard copy please call our office on 9368 9800 and we will post an enrolment pack to your home with a reply paid envelope. No visitors are permitted on site until further notice.

Enrolments for 2020 are now open for all years – Foundation to Year 9.

Enrolments for 2021 are now open.
