Every Day Counts At Truganina College

Students are expected to be at the College every day, in full school uniform and ready to learn by 8:35am. Students develop good habits by going to school everyday – habits that are necessary to succeed after school, whether in the workplace or in further study. Children who attend school every day and complete Year 12 have better health, better job opportunities and higher income across their lives.

    Did you know?

Being away from school for 1 day a fortnight equals missing 1.5 years over 13 years of school! We make every day count at Truganina College and it is important everyone is at school, every day!

If your child is absent from school, a dedicated, caring staff member will follow up with a courtesy phone call to check in with families. We do all we can to support every child to achieve 100% attendance.

    Reporting Attendance

If your child is sick or absent, you are required to notify the College as soon as possible, on the day of absence using one of the following methods:

    1. Log in to Compass and log the absence directly using the Parent Portal.
    2. Telephone the College on 9368 9800 and let the staff know your child’s name, class, date of absences and the reason.
    3. Email the College – truganina.p9.co@education.vic.gov.au – and provide the staff with your child’s name, class, date of absences and reason.
