Use the Find my School tool to check which school is your local government school. Students who live in our school zone will be guaranteed a place at our school. All other applications outside of our zone will be considered on a case by case basis.

Expression of Interest to Enrol at Truganina College

This form has been designed to support students to apply for a place at a Victorian Government School. If the student is offered a place at Truganina College, a School Enrolment Form and supporting documentation will need to be completed to finalise enrolment.

The Department of Education has a state-wide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Truganina College.

School Zones for 2026 will be released by The Department of Education for the start of Term 2 2025 (22/04/2025).

The update of our website is scheduled for April 22, 2025, at which time a link for submitting Expressions of Interest for Foundation 2026 Enrolment will be made available.

Students coming from a Victorian Primary School

Year 7 2026 enrolments are coordinated via your child’s current Victorian Primary School. Please contact your child’s Primary School for further information regarding the Year 6 to Year 7 transition process. The Statewide Placement Timeline for 2025-2026 can be found here.

Students coming from a non-government primary school

If your child attends a non-government primary school and you would like your child to commence Year 7 at Truganina College in 2026, please read the process here.

If your Year 7 2026 enrolment request does not meet one of the criteria’s above, please complete an Expression of Interest to Enrol at Truganina College

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Nicole Puttyfoot is very excited to lead Truganina College’s Exemplary Enrichment Program.

Truganina College's Enrichment program is designed to provide evidence-based, targeted small group interventions, utilising a range of strategies such as MacqLit, LLI, and MiniLit. These interventions enable Education Support staff to offer a differentiated approach, maximising student learning gains and focusing on both student learning and wellbeing. The Enrichment curriculum exemplifies an exceptional education support team that has demonstrated excellence in collaboration and teamwork. The curriculum's long-term strategic and inclusive approach has proven highly effective in empowering students and driving direct and indirect improvements in student outcomes.

Truganina College's Enrichment team demonstrates exemplary practices, fostering a positive climate for learning and driving improved student and school outcomes. With their unwavering commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and collective efficacy, the team has implemented strategies in their respective areas of work. The Enrichment team has dedicated learning spaces designed to replicate small classrooms with visibles inspired by the work of John Hattie. These thoughtfully arranged rooms showcase Truganina College's visibles and literacy-supporting infographics, creating a conducive and stimulating environment for learning. With tables and chairs arranged for small group instruction, these spaces foster respect and productivity. Students benefit from 45 minutes of explicit intervention instruction, receiving a minimum of four sessions per week.
Lessons within the Enrichment curriculum are differentiated to cater for individual student learning goals. Multiple exposures to concepts ensure students make progress towards achieving their objectives. Throughout the Enrichment cycle, students engage in supportive and engaging activities that consolidate their learning and boost their confidence.

Meet the Year 6 Assistant Principal

Teaching & Learning Excellence: Adult Learning

Leanne McNaughton came to Truganina College at the beginning of 2016 as a Visual Art Specialist. Leanne has worked at various schools in Gippsland, Geelong, Hobart and around the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, where she has taught every year level from Kinder to Year 9, primarily as a classroom teacher.

Leanne has a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a major in Psychology and Commerce at Deakin University. She has successfully completed the Inspire program at Bastow and worked as an ‘Education Changemaker’ as part of the Intercultural Capabilities Project with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.

Leanne leads Adult Learning at the college, where she models excellence in teaching and learning for colleagues and works alongside teachers in their classrooms to help improve students’ learning outcomes through improved teaching practice. Leanne’s philosophy is that we are life-long learners and we are all on a learning journey to continually improve our practice and strive to be the best educators for the students within our care.

Leanne lives in Ocean Grove with her husband, and they have two children of whom they are extremely proud.

Leanne is a ‘people person’ who genuinely cares about all students, staff and the wider community of Truganina College. She wants to make a difference in the lives of young people and focuses on supporting students’ social and emotional wellbeing. Leanne is passionate about making education engaging and motivating for students so they can achieve academic success.

College Principal

Amanda joined Truganina P-9 College in Term 3, 2024. Amanda has a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Melbourne, a Diploma of Languages from the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Literacy from the University of Melbourne.

Amanda began her career in Rome teaching English as a foreign language to adults in a school near the Ponte San’Angelo. Upon her return to Melbourne, Amanda managed a foreign language bookshop, Language International where some of her time was spent traveling around Australia and New Zealand demonstrating the links between language learning software and language pedagogy.

As a teacher, Amanda has worked for 20 years in Government and Catholic schools in Melbourne teaching a mix of Italian, Reading Recovery and generalist classroom. As a Lead teacher and Literacy Coach, Amanda undertook her Masters of Literacy with a focus on dialogic discourse and its impact on writing. Amanda was also a lead teacher with Innovative Language Provision in Clusters-ILPIC developing a showcase of language and cultural activities connecting primary and secondary schools with languages education.

Through her role as Moonee Valley Network Chair and Leader, Amanda contributed to and led collaborative efforts to support sustainable and state aligned initiatives benefiting the education of children and young people in Moonee Valley. In this role, Amanda collaborated with and provided guidance and mentorship for educational leaders across a range of sectors.

Amanda has a passion for learning and collaborating with colleagues showcasing her dedication to continuous improvement and growth in the field of education. Amanda enjoys leading strategic conversations and crafting professional learning programs.

Amanda currently works collaboratively with other Principals to deliver Inspire- Local Leaders, a program of The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. Amanda has nine years’ experience in Principal class roles in primary and secondary settings in the inner city and western suburbs.

Being a student-centred leader, Amanda is committed to developing student curriculum and wellbeing programs that prioritise student agency and growth. Her holistic approach reflects a deep understanding of the importance of preparing children and young people not only for academic success, but also to reach their full potential so as to contribute to their communities and world as active citizens who can believe, achieve and succeed!

When not being a Principal, Amanda and her family are committed to restoring a piece of degraded farming land through the planting of 2000 trees and support and maintenance of a natural bird wetland and breeding area. Amanda enjoys spending time with her sons and swimming, gardening and reading.
